Gabrielle Allen is the Associate Dean for Research and Research Education in the College of Education where she also directs the Bureau of Educational Research. Gabrielle is a Professor of Astronomy, a Research Professor of Computer Science, and a Senior Research Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications where she co-leads the NCSA Gravity Group.

As Director of Strategic Initiatives, Beth works closely with faculty and administrators in the College, across the campus, and the Illinois system, to help the College and its researchers discern, articulate, organize, and respond to exceptional research and programmatic opportunities. She also facilitates the development of new resources to benefit the College’s research mission and raise the profile of its research interests, capacity and accomplishments, and works on collaborations for the campus research infrastructure network. Beyond her work for the Bureau, she also serves as Managing Editor for the Journal of Research in Science Teaching.
